| YEGUADA IBERICA WORKSHOP: BEDFORDSHIRE |
Report by Katie john |
| The second two-day workshop at Yeguada Iberica took place on 24–25
August. It was well attended, with a mix of familiar and new faces and even a man who had once had his portrait painted by Sir Alfred
Munnings! |

As before, there was a range of fine Iberian horses to study, including old favourites
Granero, Malabar and Emir. It was inspiring to witness the rhythms of horses in motion as they cantered at
liberty around the arena, and to see the bond between a brood mare and her foal. We also had the opportunity to study equine anatomy, with the
Hispano-Arab Buccanero as our model. The workshop ended with some displays of riding and driving, including some advanced dressage from
Richard and his Lusitano stallion Edo |
| Many thanks to the tutors, Mary Browning and Dick
Barton, who gave just the right mixture of encouragement and constructive criticism.
Thanks also to our kind hosts, Richard and Sue Lüst, who made sure we had all the horses and help we needed for a variety of equine studies. |

Finally, a big thank-you to Siân Wynn and her husband Bruce, who
organised the workshop and provided delicious meals – as well as a viewing of more Spanish horse photographs than I have ever seen in my
life!
