Deborah Burt HSEA

Biography

Deborah Burt HSEA

A country childhood fostered a great passion for animals. Deborah’s love of horses and dogs in particular, shows greatly in the skilful and sensitive portraits she creates. Having spent a large part of her life working with Thoroughbreds and Arabians on studs, in training yards and as a racing journalist and photographer, her anatomical knowledge and personal experience beautifully support the character and personality that she captures with each piece.

Working from life her initial sketches, studies and reference photographs are reinterpreted in her Berkshire studio and all pieces are cast in bronze and hand finished in Britain.

She won the Society’s scholarship for the Devon Residential Workshop in 2006 and has exhibited with the SEA since 2007. She regularly exhibits with the Osborne Studio Gallery and Norton Way Gallery in Hertfordshire,  and has also had work exhibited with the Society of Women Artists, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Badminton Horse Trials. Deborah undertakes a limited number of commissions each year and is always happy to discuss enquiries, please get in touch.
