A bold, gestural and experimental artist by nature, Julie has won many awards for her animal and wildlife paintings in particular, including twice winning the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year (World Mammals category). Julie has always been drawn to horses, since her pony-mad childhood and show jumping days, and is proud to exhibit regularly with the Society of Equestrian Artists. Chair and Exhibitions Co-ordinator of the Association of Animal Artists, Julie exhibits her works widely, including with the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Society of Women Artists, and the ING Discerning Eye at the Mall Galleries in London, and the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art in Cheshire. She has been a finalist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year since its inception in 2008, and Julie was the recipient of the Christopher Parsons Award for Artistic Excellence from TWASI in 2014, and won the prestigious Harold Riley Buxton Spa Sketchbook prize in 2015. She is a signature member of the international group, Artists For Conservation.
