Nicola cannot remember a time when she did not draw and paint horses, and even as a child was commissioned to paint equestrian portraits and sold her equestrian paintings in local galleries in Norfolk

A business career gave little time for painting, but she has recently returned to it, dividing her time between music (she teaches and plays the saxophone) and painting

A member of the Kirby Bellars Group of Artists, she exhibits her work widely in the midlands. She paints for commissions, exhibitions and for her own pleasure. Specialising in pony studies and portraits, her paintings show a lifetime’s love and understanding of their special character and charm. She has a particular love of the native pony breeds. She also paints landscapes, particularly coastal scenes. Whatever the subject, her approa ch is often experimental, incorporating texture and mixing media to suit the subject.
