• Bill has always drawn horses of all types and has a strong interest in heavy horses and the period in which they were in common use as draft and farm animals.
  

• For many years he was a keen horseman until injury from a fall at a jump put an end to this activity.
  

• Other subjects are buildings (especially old barns), people portraits, animals and sailing ships
  

• Commissioned work can be undertaken from photographs alone but they are combined with direct observation whenever possible.
