Although born in Devon, Irene spent her school days in Cheshire, where she discovered he love for horses. Race horses became her passion, so she went to Newmarket - the heart of the Racing Industry. Her interest and enthusism to learn as much as possible about the physical and mental attributes of race horses made every day an 'active study day'. This communication with, and observation of, the finest horses in the world - coupled with the expert guidance of some of the most knowledgable traininers in the world, proved to be the perfect grounding for the artwork which she now produies

The transference from horses to sculpting came as a revelation! Having admired an extremely expensive equine bronze sculpture, Irene appreciated the joke when she was given, for a birthday present, a pack of modelling clay labelled 'Statue - DIY Version'. The clay lay around for months, with Irene intending to pass it on to a child; one winter's day, however, she passed her time by trying her hand at sculpting! That was it!

The artform that had laid dormant in her was born. Irene's most prestigious work is for 'The American Breeders' Trophy'. Her clients include a number of internationally famous people.
