  • Artist's Statement: "It is my belief that we can all learn to paint, but it is in the silent, authentic, beautiful recesses of our minds and souls where the masterpiece is born. True artistic skill, the courage to interpret the images of that place, and bringing them into the world for you to experience, is my goal. Helping you to discover that place within yourself is my highest purpose"
  • British artist Lesley Humphrey grew up on the rugged Pennine Chain of England and has been an avid rider since the age 5. Since then, she has owned and trained a variety of horses including Thoroughbreds, Arabians and Andalusians for driving, racing, eventing and fox hunting. She is currently a Member with Colors of the Longacre Hunt of Texas, where she has her primary residence
  • She received early artistic training from her father, a commercial artist. She has studied with some of the world’s leading artists at Scottsdale Art School, and Fredericksburg Art School, though credits her mentor, the late Dick Turner of Houston, as the most influential person in her artistic life
  • Lesley has work in prominent collections throughout Britain and the U.S. She has been invited to lecture, demonstrate or exhibit in many prestigious U.S. venues such Amon Carter Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Masters, Texas; International Museum of The Horse, Kentucky, Marieta Cobb Museum, Georgia. In the U.K. - Christie’s International, The Royal Horse Guards, Mall Galleries and Palace House, England. She has garnered numerous artistic and community service awards, including an Honorary PhD for developing parent-taught art programs for Texas elementary schools. She teaches a full workshop schedule annually in the U.S. and in the U.K.
  • Her highest and most treasured honor is that she was presented to H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II, at Buckingham Palace 2007 by the Royal Grenadier Guards.
