Born in Victoria, Australia, Pippa spent many years working in the equine and veterinary industry, before embarking on a full time art career in 2001. Her extensive travelling both in Australia and overseas allowed her access to the worlds finest examples of art and from there to develop as a painter.
-
Pippa is self taught in both Still Life and Equestrian painting. She employs several different methods when painting, from a very traditional style in oils to more modern techniques for her contempory works. All her still life work is produced in the studio from life, while the horse and animal studies are produced from on location colour-matching sketches and photos.
-
Since achieving her long term goal to become a full time artist, she has won the‘Best oil in Show’ award at the Mall Galleries in London, her painting ‘Morocco’ appeared on the cover of the UK’s leading equestrian magazine ’Horse and Hound‘, and she is under contract to two of the UK’s biggest publishing houses. Pippa was also a finalist in the 2004 ‘Not the Turner Prize’ in London.
