Promotion from Friend to Associate Member
Any Friend who submits work for the Annual Exhibition and has at least one
item accepted on three occasions in a five year period will be promoted
automatically to Associate. If all work in submitted in any year is rejected
previous acceptances will be disregarded and the five year qualifying period
will start again. This to commence from 1997 based on existing records.

- Any Friend who submits work for the Annual Exhibition and has at
least two items accepted on three occasions in a five year period
will be promoted automatically to Associate. If all work submitted in

five year qualifying period will start again. Any Friend who has had
one item accepted prior to 2005 and has two items accepted in 2005 or
subsequently will automatically be promoted provided the other
conditions have been satisfied.
Promotion from Associate Member to Full Member
(As amended and agreed at the Annual General Meeting 14th April 2002)
Any Associate who has at least two works selected for the Annual
Exhibition on each of three consecutive years that work is submitted will
automatically be invited to submit a portfolio for consideration at the
Annual General Meeting.
The portfolio at the Annual General Meeting will be assessed by those
Full Members who are present and a 66% YES vote will be required to
determine promotion. (NB A minimum of ten Full Members must be present at
the AGM for this purpose)
[In very special cases, e.g. in the case of an already well-established
equestrian artist with a national/international reputation, the Executive
Committee may recommend to the Annual General Meeting that the foregoing
formalities regarding Full Membership be waived]
PORTFOLIOS
- Portfolios will be assessed at the Annual General Meeting by those Full
members present and a 66% YES vote is required to determine promotion.
- Although there is no requirement to submit working drawings, Promotion
Panels do find these helpful and those seeking promotion are encouraged to
submit such drawings, if made.
Paintings
- There should be three or four completed paintings, which need not
necessarily be framed.
- Works should have been completed during the last two years and not have
been included in the Society's Exhibitions.
Sculptures
- There should be a minimum of three pieces of finished work together with
one or two maquettes.
- Sculpture should have been completed within the last three years and not
to have been included in the Society's Exhibitions.
