All Friends, Associates and Members are invited to submit images and text for inclusion on the Artists' Gallery pages. Submissions may be electronically (preferred) or by post

Note that the maximum number of images on members' gallery pages are:  Friends - 3, Associates - 4, Full Members - 6 -  (Amended 14 Jan 09 as result of  Exec Ctte decision 11 Jan 09)

• Picture Formats
  
  • Send me the appropriate number of images each of which should be at least 500 pixels on their longest side - I will reduce them as necessary
  • Please don't ask me to choose from several - it's your page and your works, and you're the one who can best decide!
  • The quality of images I seek to publish on the web (to avoid other people nicking them and doing anything useful with them) means I will publish them with a file size of no more than 100Kb or so each. 
  • If you wish to reduce the size of large images to ease the bandwidth used, by all means do so - if you have a graphics package that generates JPG files, a scan of a 6"x4" photo at 100dpi with a compression option for low compression higher quality gives files of about the right size
  • I don't mind large files, I'll do the scaling and framing as necessary - I have broadband, so the size doesn't matter to me, but if you're sending from a dial-up link, it'll certainly worry you
  • Bottom Line - If the images you send me are any smaller than about 500 dots x 500 dots, they won't look right on the screen
     
• Words in your statement
   
  • My guidelines from the Executive Committee are for no more than about 200 words or so for each page
  • I have neither artistic talent not journalistic skills - I'm just the technician who does what you ask of me - I copy and paste where possible to ensure I achieve what you ask (including capitals, punctuation, spelling and grammar!)

Sending by EMail

• Please attach the photos as separate jpg images (don't embed them in the email, or in a microsoft word document - they lose too much quality when transmitted that way!)
• Include enough information in the email to allow me to join up photos with words eg:

file: eos1276.jpg - Title: Arkle - Information: 50cm x 80cm - Oil on Canvas - Painted as a commission, now hangs in the Smith Gallery in New York

• Include your 200 words or so of biography or statement as an attached word document or directly in the body of the email
• send them to webmaster @ equestrianartists.co.uk

Sending  by Post:

• CDs or DVDs
  • separate images for each work you are submitting
  • Include somewhere enough information to allow me to join up photos with words eg:

    file: eos1276.jpg - Title: Arkle - Information: 50cm x 80cm - Oil on Canvas - Painted as a commission, now hangs in the Smith Gallery in New York

  • word document with biography or statement - a maximum of 200 words of text to appear on your page
  • If you require disks to be returned please provide appropriately-addressed (stamped) return envelope and packing.
     
• Photographs
  • Good photographs of your work, each marked on the back with your name, medium and title of the picture, plus any special copyright information and whether you are a Full Member, Associate or Friend
  • A maximum of 200 words of text to appear on your page
  • A stamped, self-addressed envelope for return of the photographs
